Rita Lihaven has been a friend and coworker with us at Love Abbotsford for a number of years. This year she had taken on faciliting a down-scaled Love Abbotsford event in the absence of its previous coordinator, Kevin Boese. We were shocked to hear that the cancer that she had overcome a couple of years earlier had come back and taken her life in a very short time. She died on Friday June 6, and a memorial service is planned for Thursday June 12, 2pm at Sevenoaks Alliance Church.

Rita served our city in amazing ways. She would be best honoured if we were to continue in her footsteps and practically love those around us.

We'll miss you Rita.
