What happens when thousands
of Abbotsford residents experience practical acts of kindness?
On
June 7, 2003, Abbotsford once again experienced an explosion
of kindness.
Everything
from face-painting for kids to free cans of pop, landscaping
services and baked goodies was used to saturate the community
in practical acts of kindness. "How much does it
cost?" was one of the common responses when surprised
residents were offered a service on that Saturday. The
answer, of course, is that it's absolutely free! No fine
print, no signing on the dotted line, it's just something
local Christians want to do for their community.
Did
someone give you a Love Abbotsford card? Find
out why
"Why
are you doing this?" was another question from those
touched by the projects. "Having been given the extravagant
gift of God's great love," explains one participant,
"what else could I do but pass it on?! I want to
share Jesus' generosity, his self-sacrificing love, with
everyone I meet."
The desire of those
involved in Love Abbotsford is that this down-to-earth demonstration of God's
love will become a way of living. A smile and an unexpected act of kindness will
not only make your day, it could change your life!
